Tower Defense (TD) strategy games are among the most addictive free Flash games on the web.

The point of most of these games is to defend your base against waves of enemies, moving along a fixed path. The way to do this is to build towers on or on the sides of these paths.

2 Onslaught

Not the prettiest of designs, but Onslaught Tower Defense features a lot of options, maps and weapons. I like the fact that you can accurately control the waves of enemies coming your way.

3 Bloons Tower Defense 4

Hordes of evil balloons are of great difficulty to your army of monkeys. In the end, you realize your only way out is to get the most powerful monkey of all: SUPER MONKEY!

Oh, and besides Bloons Tower Defense 4, there’s also an Expansion available to play for free.

4 Gemcraft Chapter 0

This game is quite unique in the way you build the towers. Instead of choosing from a list of towers to build, you create gems and combine them in different ways which creates towers with different strengths. Built around this is kind of an RPG (Role Playing Game) experience with loads of missions and ways to spend your earned experience points.

5 Monster Defense

More of the same, but Monster Defense has nice, subtle sound and visual effects. Good for half an hour of fun before going to (or being at) work.
