6LAN party
This will require a bit of planning and cooperation between parents, but if you can manage to pull it off, the kids at school will be talking about how cool that kid and his parents are for years. You will basically need to hook up a bunch of computers, laptops or gaming consoles and then just sit back and let the kids play; only taking a break for cake and a birthday song. You can even make it a sleepover party.
7Sports tournament
If you have a decent-sized backyard you can set up a couple of soccer goals, a basketball stand or even an obstacle course and split the kids up into teams. You can get matching jerseys and prepare small prizes or trophies for the winners and plenty of snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy after the game.
8LARP party
Warriors, warlocks, magical princesses, shield maidens, noble knights and stealthy assassins can roam the playground in their medieval costumes, swing their mighty foam swords, cast spells and do battle with mythical creatures. Afterwards, the little warriors can sit at the round table and partake of sweets, burgers of fizzy beverages.
9Summer fun
A pool party is great fun and you don’t have to have a big, fancy Olympic swimming pool out back – a nice medium-sized above ground pool will do. You can have squirt gun fights and water slide races, but remember to keep an eye on the kids so that no one gets accidentally hurt.
10Harry Potter party
The houses of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin come together at this royal wizard’s gathering and pit their magic and quidditch skills against each other. Wands, matching costumes and a few brooms are all you need – the children’s imagination will take care of the rest. With these awesome kid’s party ideas your child’s next birthday will be one to remember and the other parents will sing your praises.
