Condemned by the UK government on its release in 1979 for its extreme blood and gore, it’s no wonder that Zombi 2 has made it onto the list.
Arguably the most memorable part of the film features a woman being stabbed in the eye with a splinter. The slow edging of the wooden shard towards the eyeball is excruciating, making it a scene to watch through parted fingers. While the film itself wasn’t a roaring success, this scene goes down as one of the most memorable ocular traumas in cinematic history.
