1 Renault Twingo – Banned lesbians advert
Lesbians, nakedness, bras, knickers and lesbians – who needs the car ad? Well, apparently, the Italian version of OFCOM does. This saucy clip shows two girls attempting the art of seduction at a party. One thing leads to another, and one of them ends up almost naked in bed whilst the other jumps on top of her.
The fun ends, however, when one of the girls blindfolds the other and effectively robs her car – so, shes a lesbian and a thief? Hmmm.
2 Honda Jazz
Ok, so this isn’t exactly ‘funny’, but it is fun, and for that, we had to include it. Honda always makes fantastic car adverts, and this one of is no exception. We start off with an angelic atmosphere that looks all soft and cuddly like it’s made out of marshmallows. Then we meet a continually evolving character that depicts the growth of life. Honda manages to keep us watching for over a minute, and when the Jazz is finally introduced, we sit back and think “what a nice video”. Happiness, people, happiness!

3 Honda Accord
Is this the best car advert ever? We think so. Never before has a car advertisement been so simple, complex and yet awe inspiring all-in-one. From cogs to alloys, from wipers to engine blocks, this Accord advert will make you smile with amazement, be shocked with surprise and laugh with joy. It is brilliant from start to finish.
4 Renault Clio
We all sing in our cars – let’s be honest. And we all know the horror that comes when a fellow driver sees you singing. That is why this Clio advert is so funny. With a youthful driver playing the fool and a disgruntled dad playing the disgruntled dad, this clip shows that the French know how to sell a car and make us all smile.
Oh, there’s some Chesney Hawkes music on there, too – enjoy!
5 Renault Megane
Renault seems to have a bit of a funny bone when it comes to selling cars. This one, however, was a lot more controversial. With the slogan “can a car change a town?” this ad sets out to prove that having a Megane will improve the fertility rates in ‘rough’ areas such as Gisburn, Lancashire. This didn’t go down well at all with the Gisburnians and there was subsequent outrage from the residents.
It’s a good watch, though, even if it is just to laugh at a stereotypical Frenchman make an arse out of himself – and embarrass a few locals, too.
6 Volvo S60
A Volvo being driven by a fake-Stig look-a-like performing donuts, J-turns and over steer is about as natural as Helen Mirren doing the Great North Run, but alas, they did it. The Swedish marque cheered us all up with this ad that was funny because, well, it’s a Volvo doing boy-racer manoeuvres – shouldn’t it be saving someone’s life in Albania? Good, naughty fun from Volvo with this one.

7 Hyundai
This has got to be one of our all-time favourite car adverts. First off, it’s god damn hilarious. Secondly, it’s proper old school humour. And thirdly, it’s slightly sexual – which is always nice. We won’t give this one away, so sit back and enjoy.
8 Chevrolet Corvette
Americans love a bit of nostalgia, and they also love kids driving 400bhp sports cars. Yep, this banned ad shows a child living his dreams with a red V8 Corvette and showing off to his mates. It’s something that we have all dreamed off, so we can relate to that one. It’s fun, humorous and innocent; so grab a burger, put on your goofy baseball style comedy finger and ye-haaaa all the way through.

9 Toyota Corolla
Arty farty ads are rarely humorous, but this Toyota Corolla one certainly catches the eye. A beautiful lady walking down the street takes the attention of several male drivers who subsequently crash in a comical and destructive way.
The tides turn towards the end when the lady is caught off guard by the ‘sexy’ Corolla. Can you blame her, though? Just look at that beast.
10 Nissan
We don’t have even the slightest clue as to what this advert means, refers to or is supposed to say, but we love it. It’s simplicity at its beautiful best. This is definitely one for the men and is probably not safe for watching while you’re at work.
