1 80′s Style
One of the worst fashion trends already coming forth for the year is a throwback to the decade of hair bands and flowery shirts: the eighties. Tight, skinny pants are a fashion trend that will not only be regrettable but, for some reason, it will likely gain popularity as the year wears on. After all, it didn’t go over so well during those great eighties and though many young men will get caught up in trying to squeeze into pants that are a few sizes too small, they will only likely lead to one thing. Tight leather pants. So let’s hope that we can avoid this fashion trend and save some level of respect for ourselves.
2 Funky Moustache
The next fashion trend that is rearing its ugly head for the year is the funky moustache. Again, this is another throwback to the nineteen-eighties, and it has been the butt of many jokes throughout the years. It is amazing that men are even considering growing these funky moustaches, the thick, bushy moustaches, the thin, frail looking one, and even the long, curly, obnoxious ones. Before you or your man begins to grow that funky looking moustache, pull up some pictures from the eighties of the celebrities who once thought they looked cool and show them how hideous they actually are.
3 Wrinkled Clothing
Wrinkled clothing tends to be trying to make a comeback in the annals of fashion lore, and while they didn’t do much for the people wearing them out of the laundry basket when they were in college or out on their own for the first time, they aren’t going to do much this time, either. There are shirts that are being marketed in stores with permanent wrinkles forged into them and it is similar to the concept of paying extra for the ‘worn’ look of jeans that was popular in the nineteen-nineties. Okay, so wearing a wrinkled looking shirt may seem like a cool trend, but if you want to be taken seriously by your friends, boss, or potential employer, then looking as though you just crawled out of bed is not going to do you many favors.
4 Shredded Jeans
The last worst fashion trend for 2011 that you should try to avoid is the shredded jeans. The rockers of the eighties made these incredibly popular for a time, but their time has long since come and gone. The idea of taking a blade to one’s jeans may sound fun, but the end result will have other people shaking their heads whenever they see you walking by. This fashion trend might work for some women, but not all.
If you don’t want to get caught in a picture wearing something you regret, then simply avoid these basic bad fashion trends for 2011.
