Coal mining is an inherently dangerous practice, which often leads to accidents. Of the various mining accidents all over the globe, nothing is worse than the 10 I will list. Some of these accidents possess death tolls that would simply blow your mind. Mining disasters have been occurring as long as mining has existed itself. In fact, some of world’s worst accidents occurred all the way back in the 1800s. These mining accidents regularly have death tolls in the 100s even with the technology we employ today. To date we have found no truly one hundred percent safe way to traverse the inside of the earth without risk. The men and women that put their lives at risk, to extract resources from the earth should be commended for putting themselves into harm’s way for our benefit.
